I spent the weekend with @janeromanishkoart learning so many things about faces and pastels. But the best part was that she brought, like, a hundred of her reference photos, all of which were so beautiful- I have to up my lighting game.

I have never worked so hard to preserve a white in my life. This painting has been tough because:
• I can’t rely on colour to help me make a point. It’s values or nothing
• It’s huge and I’m learning how to adapt to
